    EVERYONE'S BEST FRIEND

As has been said every dog has his day but not until the insightful Tim Flach have dogs been captured in extraordinary photos capturing not only our best friends at rest, at work, and at play but also revealing the deep affection we have for them. As Blackwell writes, "There's a bond we have with the dog that goes beyond all other animals." How true!

Tim Flach's photography is a work of art with each photo bringing the viewer close to the subject. It's difficult to describe the intimacy one feels. A Pug with startling blue eyes and endearingly wrinkled face gazes directly into the eyes of the viewer. Impossible not to love him! A proud German Shepherd looks trustingly from the page, a reminder that this breed is often a police or search-and-rescue dog. A honey colored Labrador Retriever pup with his snub nose and silky floppy ears is titled "Say You Love Me." Of course, we do!

Precisely lit and thoughtfully cropped these photos are sheer beauty - a black Lab, Sadie, is shown with the prestigious Dickin Medal around her neck. The Medal was given for "conspicuous gallantry or devotion to duty" while working with the British armed forces. Sadie's ebony coat gleams with the luster of midnight. A Golden Retriever's love of water is expressed in succeeding photos as the happy dog shakes water from his russet coat.

"Information" at the back of the volume provides details about each dog photographed . DOGS is 216 pages of pure pleasure, a volume that will be enjoyed over and over again.

    Highly recommended.

    Breathtaking!

I haven't purchased this yet, but I have looked at every photo and read every word while in my local B&N. If you love dogs and "get" their spirits, you will love this book! Every image is absolutly breathtaking! Flach clearly understands the amazing dogs he photographed.

Love this book!  I waited over 2 months for it to arrive but it was worth it.  I leave it on my coffee table at it's a conversation starter with everyone who comes to visit.  Always puts a smile on my face!

    For the Love of Dogs.

Do you love dogs? Tim Flach uses his camera for capturing dogs' characteristics and beauty; each page of this book is a work of art. You will find that each photo first captures your eye and then your heart as you try to read the expression or body language of each dog. Like the "Flying Mop" Puli that makes you chuckle at his playfulness and chaotic movement or the Boxer with the deep beautiful tones of the dog coat and background. The photography in this book is really amazing and the insight into each breed is equally amazing and wonderful. Tim Flach did a wonderful job with horses and now dogs. I cannot wait to see what he does next. Patti

    The "Dog-on" best. Highly reccomended!

I purchased this book for my Mom for her 60th b-day. She loves dogs so much that we have had dogs all of my life and most of hers. She now has 6 (yes I said 6) Great Danes all of whom are rescues. She loves each and every one of them equally. I received the book to give to her and couldn't contain myself I opened it, read it and loved it so much I have claimed it for myself....so I am here to buy another.
