    Loved it...

I am an amateur photographer, that is just getting into how to pose people for professional portraits. I loved Doug Box's Guide to Posing as it gave me a great foundation for learning the basics. It showed me several pictures on how to pose the hands. I also loved the section on how to pose groups of people. This has definitely been a challenge for me in the past. It goes over how to pose men, women, couples, brides and grooms, kids, teens, and groups of people. If you are looking for basic guidance on how to pose people, then this is the book for you. If you already know this information, then you maybe disappointed with this book.

    A good start.

Maybe not quite the depth I was hoping for, but a lot of good information. Definitely a good start and a good read if you're new to portraiture or just rusty as I am.

    Must read beginner or professional

This instruction is the foundation of all posing. You will use this in every shot you take especially if you want to break the rules the right way. A must for the beginner if you really want to grow as a photographer. Benefiting the professional who hasn't reviewed the foundation of posing and can reniform them of the posing subtleties that make a photograph from, great to superior.

This is an okay book !

It is a posing book that just doesn't quite hit the mark. There is some good stuff in it, but not as detailed as I would have liked. Also the photos are mediocre. I was a bit disappointed.
