Some reviews I have seen complain that they would rather see their favor authors concentrate on the next novel rather than produce short stories for multiple-authored Anthologies. I disagree. Authors use the opportunity to more fully introduce us to what is normally less major characters in their full novels or an a small prequel to a major character. Patricia Briggs does this for Warren in "A Red Plague of Pearls". I also use the Anthologies to discover new authors and maybe new series without plunging fully into a novel. While this did not happen with "Down These Strange Streets", I enjoyed the stories presented.
