The Real Evidence of Dr. Bob's Heart - his reading

Wow! Did early AAs read books of all kind? Dick B. shows the large variety of Christian reading A.A. Cofounder Dr. Bob studied and circulated. Books on prayer, healing, 'meditation,' God's guidance, the Bible, Jesus Christ, the Oxford Group writings, Rev. Sam Shoemaker. Even William James and Carl Jung.

The value of knowing Dr. Bob's reading and books he circulated among early AAs

This book helps the student or the alcoholic both to study and to learn the success formula used in early A.A. That formula included prayer, healing, Biblical readings, and other spiritual literature recommended by Dr. Bob to, and circulated among, early AAs. The books which author Dick B. found in Dr. Bob¿s library are of very practical use today. They include the writings and philosophies of such diverse authors as James Allen, Starr Daily, Glenn Clark, Emmet Fox, E. Stanley Jones, Oswald Chambers, and Rufus Mosely. And many of their contributions enable readers to understand why early A.A.¿s success formulae were so successful. This book is a perfect fit for any individual from any walk of life who wants to learn about what worked for early A.A. For the topics such as prayer, Bible chapters, spiritual literature, and divine healing played an absolutely essential role in Dr. Bob¿s own successful work in helping over five thousand to recover in early A.A.
