cutting edge at 1988, still good for quotes; interesting stuff
I just finished reading"the dream of the earth". Speaking as a Christian I do not understand where Berry's claim against Christianity is. (And consider Berry is a Catholic priest.) How can we just drop the kerygma? I am all for including the Native American myth as part of our New Story. But Christ will always elude the kind of understanding that Berry advocates. Christ is the ultimate anomaly. Without Christ, with only Technology and Science our civilization will cave in.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. The futurist now don't worry about future. We just need to live our moments. We are always cutting edge. And as Marx claim whenever if there are problems in the society, the society will bring that problem to the fore. I am crossing my fingers for that. Explict communication is not the only way we get along with each other and with the nature. Perhaps Berry was hinting that we do talk to nature, even if it doesn't go on the TV.
