Imaginative short stories!
I liked some of the short stories better than others but Charles de Lint is a terrific writer with a pretty wild imagination. Some of the stories are a little scary, some are whimsical and some are just magical.

De Lint Rocks
I was just introduced to Charles De Lint's work & can't believe I haven't read any of his writings before. I have thoroughly enjoyed this book, recommended it to my friends & have purchased 3 copies for gifts-all in a 2 week period! I look forward to reading more about Jilly, my favorite character.

Utterly Awesome!
I am so glad that I got this book. I first read The Riddle of the Wren, and fell in love with deLint's writing style. This is definitely a must read for fantasy lovers!

I am so glad I got this book!
This collection of short stories is said to be the beginning for Newford, though 'Spirits in the Wires' takes place before it, and 'Memory & Dream' goes into the days that some of these characters were younger and college-aged.

Short stories establish a world
This is a wonderful collection of short stories where several characters reappear. Sometimes as the protagonist, and sometimes as a character in someone else's story. I love the different perspectives. The very rich world of Newford is created through these tales. I can't wait to read more of these books!
