For the home, for the cottage.
These translations of (perhaps) Rilke's finest poems belong on a shelf within easy reach. Read them often; read from them often. If you are fortunte enough to read German, this bilingual edition wil have you comparing German to English across the facing pages, perhaps teasing from you a translation of your own for a phrase here, there an idiom more appealing to your ear. More likely you will simply read what is given, with pleasure and gratitude. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

NOW I LOVE POETRY!
Rainer Maria Rilke has finally allowed me to enjoy poetry! Admittedly, I love almost everything that has to do with German culture, but Rilke truly stands out. This poetry is beautiful whether read in German or in the supberb translation by Paulin. The poetry not only blew me away with its beautiful imagery but also caused me to truly think about life. So wonderful! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
