When a serial killer stalks Montreal, instead of fearing him, they cheer him, because he only kills bad guys. No one cares that he is removing scum from the earth. Still, as a detective, Dave McCall has to find the killer so he enlists a local computer guru, Chris Barry to aid him as he works.

This book has so many twists and turns that it will keep you guessing until the end. At first, it seems to be a simple mystery, but then there is another twist. The characters are well developed, but the addition of unnamed characters’ background makes it difficult to connect the past to the current activities. Since the definition of a good mystery is that you do not know ‘who-done-it’ until the end, then, this is a good mystery. I would recommend it to people who appreciate a book for it is intellectual nuances rather than non-stop action.

Duo #1 Claude Bouchard: Vigilante/The Consultant

    Vigilante (Claude Bouchard)

Set in Montreal Lieutenant Dave McCall, the head of the special task force is on a mission to find a killer. This killer calls himself the "Vigilante" and he kills those who he feels deserved to die. He targets murderers, rapists, the meanest killers around.

He teams up with Chris Barry who runs a security firm in computer communications. He is an expert in the computer field. Together they try to stay a step ahead of this killer and try to bring him down before he strikes again,

Fast paced thriller. I look forward to reading the next in the series:
    The Consultant.

    The Consultant (Claude Bouchard)

Chris Barry is back in this second (Vigilante) series. He is unemployed and very wealthy. Not sure what he is going to do with all his free time, he is approached by Jonathan Addley (A Government worker). He is asked to go undercover as an IT guy to help to see if there is a connection in the murder of an MIS director.

Soon he finds out that a the firm is a cover for a big drug smuggling ring, and Chris is right in the middle, his life is in danger. It is a race for time to catch the "bad guys" and stop this drug Lord from succeeding.

Fast pace suspense. I look forward to the next in the series Mind Games. Claude Bouchard knows how to bring his characters to life and keep the reader on the edge of his/her seat.
