I found this book to be a delight. It has a strong determined heroine who is trying to do her best to become a mystery writer. She has a critique group of other aspiring writers who are zany, believable and an all-around group of people you wouldn't mind meeting. Jennifer may be a little obsessive but her heart is always in the right place. She might be able to write about murder, even plan a murder, but commit murder -- no way! The problem, of course, arises when she plans a murder but someone else carries it through - leaving her with no alibi and in a jail cell. Thank God she has friends! This is the kind of book you can read on vacation and people will look at you wondering what you are laughing at. Whether or not Jennifer will ever get published, we don't know, but I am sure you will be as glad as I am that Judy Fitzwater did.

Stupid book with ridiculous scenarios that would never happen.

This is the stupidest book I have ever read. There were so many crazy scenarios that would never happen in real life. I dont even know where to begin. First, an old lady would never bring a homeless looking pregnant woman to her apartment where she lives alone. Second, if the apartment building had a door man it would also have video cameras installed at least in the entrance. Third, when Jennifer is calling the publisher for information they would NEVER give personal information over the phone about where someone lives. Fourth, when she worked at the TV station that place would have so many cameras and security it would be impossible for someone to sneak in because all buildings now use special access cards to get to different rooms and parts of the building. No one would have access to the roof except management. Also the roof would be full of antennas, microwave dishes, and satellite dishes where they would be getting radiated. So they could never have eaten lunch on the roof especially after someone had jumped off previously. She would also not be able to drink wine during lunch without getting fired. Every computer at work is password protected so her and Terri would never be able to look into Edith's files on her computer. When Terri and Leigh Ann go to the publisher and start a fire the receptionist would never leave the building and let the 2 women continue looking for their file on her computer. The main character, Jennifer, was just not likable. She would have been ticketed and maybe even arrested for signing her name to the death threat. Why do stupid characters like her never have any family and have to depend on friends for everything? She wasn't the owner of the catering company so why did she want to see the results of Sam's TB results? Why didn't she call the police when she knew who the killer was and tell them what she was going to do? Also, the killer never admits to the wrong they've done and explain their actions. There are just too many stupid scenarios to list. Dont waste your time with this "book". I cant believe the trash that gets published nowadays.

    A so-so read

Although parts of the book were intriguing, it wasn't something that would make me come back for more.
