Eagles and Empire by David Clary is a detailed history of an almost forgotten war.

The author has written a very detailed account of the war with Mexico during the late 1840's. It is extremely well researched and detailed work. perhaps too much so for some readers. It clearly describes the cruel and bloody course of this conflict largely forgotten or ignored now a days; however it is very relevant to our current relations with Mexico.
