Earth X

Celestials rock!!!

Having read Earth X and the other two sequels I thought it was overall great. Mostly because I like the Celestials, Galactus and Captain Universe (Universe and Paradise X appearances only for the Cap)By far the coolest parts in the series were the Celestials/Galactus war. Earth X reminds me alot of Final Fantasy VII (All of you may think this is absurd but live with it). It all starts out as a war against some kid with godly powers trying to rule Earth just like the Shinra from FFVII. Now victory is snatched from him by the heroes who now face a much greater threat--The Celestials (Who are the Sephiroth factor in all of this)and are defeated (well driven away) by Galactus and the Asgaurdians (Who are the Holy and Lifestream factors)and Earth is saved! This by far was one of the most interesting stories I have ever read next to Avengers Forever and The Abraxas Saga from the Fantastic Four comics. It would have been even better if Alex Ross (who's last name is my first) painted the whole thing.

Marvel's Future Is Not So Bright

One of the best 'future scenario' storylines ever written and certainly a complement to DC's Kingdom Come epic. Marvel presents a tale of a world gone out of control. The Inhumans' Terragen Mists have converted all of humanity into mutants and with all of these super powers running amok, no one is too concerned with the day to day activites of living. As a result, the Earth is in free fall and only a handful of heroes remain to stop the decline. Add to this that one of those heroes is a battered and disillusioned Captain America, no longer in possession of the leadership skills and unflinching heroism that once made him the lynchpin of the Avengers. Cap must battle a resurrected version of the Red Skull (now in the guise of a power mad blonde-haired, blue-eyed teenager who wears a red skull on his shirt that is vaguely reminiscent of the Punisher's insignia). The Skull is trying to lead the Earth to its demise and it's up to Cap to stop him. But this is nothing compared to the calamity occurring on a more cosmic scale. When the Celestial embryo planted in the Earth's core is about to hatch and destroy the planet, can even the might of Galactus prevent the ensuing Armageddon??? A thoroughly engrossing read for any Marvel fan. Keep an eye out for the collected Universe X follow-up story that is sure to come after the current run finishes!

Marvelous

This is simply an amazing graphic novel. The art is great, but the writing manages to be even better. A must-buy for any Marvel fan.
