Easy to follow instructions
Dr. Ornish gives you easy to follow instructions as versus some kind of diet commandments to follow. You avoid meat and dairy and oils, and be careful about the other things you eat. I found it easy to cut out red meat (only missed it for about 2 weeks), and cut out salt while I was at it. I switched to non-fat sour cream, non-fat yogurt, eating more veges and fruits, and started drinking soy milk and using other soy products. I'm not much for cooking, so I tend to buy the prepared frozen meals where I can. I find I do a lot more shopping at stores that cater to customers who want organic and fresh products. It is amazing how much better I feel from changing my diet and working out. I also started working out 5 days a week, and when my willpower flags, I pick up this book and read through it some more. Bravo for Dr. Ornish.
