When I say packed with action I mean both types

    Rating: 5 stars

    Title: Echo Island
    Author: Tempest C. Avery
    Format: ebook 239
    Genre: Paranormal Romance Fantasy Adult
    Cover: Nice
Characters: 700 yr old vamp Cassandra & 150 yr old shifter Harper and so many more!!!!
Series: Yes (this is the second one in the series….didn’t even know that until I finished reading it)

After reading the first chapters I decided to take some type of notes because it was getting hard to keep track of everyone of the characters. So before beginning the review I went back and reviewed the notes, and holy mole… oh baby…. I remember that!! When I say packed with action I mean both types! And right of the bat!! Wooosssssaaaaaaa now back to the review.

I like the intro. It prepared and allowed us to see Cassandra past a little. I like the fact that she is portrayed as a strong female character and that she has been using men for 700 yrs ever since she was turned. Used them for every evil carnal needs she desired mmmwwwhhhhaaaaa. Not your typical story where the man is the “use them and lose them” type.

I adored Harper; he is funny witty and very patient with Cassandra’s bad attitude. But I understand why she is so cranky 700 yrs is no joke. There are different types of supernatural beings / Mirror Warriors, that at times it was hard to keep up with who was who. But I had my notes if I needed to go back to.

The plot is interesting. I haven’t come across the type of bad villain that is introduced in this story before in any other book I have read. I didn’t realize this was the second book so I will be going back to read the first one. I was a little confused in the first chapter but it cleared up and I was into the story. With so many characters the series can go on for a while. The action starts and continues through out the story and there is never a dull moment. This is an adult book and I recommend it to any adult who like to read paranormal/fantasy romance stories. Looking forward to the next book and see who the next main characters will be. I would like to see if the story continues with Cassandra or Harper and what happens after.

Let me begin by saying it was a good book. I like that it is part of a series but also a stand alone. However the book was very hard to follow at the beginning. I wish the cast of characters was before the first chapter or a note indicating a cast of characters at the end of the book. I read the first two chapters, put the book down for a day, picked it back up and was so lost I almost quit reading it. The only reason I didn't is because I committed to writing a review. That being said, I am so glad I didn't stop reading the book. Once I was able to really get into the book, it held my attention. I stayed up two nights in a row reading past my bedtime(lol) because I wasn't ready to put it down. This is a series I will follow.

Another excellent read, now I need to go get the first one in this interesting new world to explore. First off It would have been nice if the extras at the end, the listing of character's, was in the beginning. If I had known it was there I would have checked it out before starting cause there were a lot of names to keep straight. For much of the story we bounce between the heads of only a few people so it wasn't really confusing, but it would have made it easier to remember whose who. I really liked this story. There was a little bit of everything; humor, good dialog, action, and a mystery to be solved all wrapped around the evolving romance of the two lead characters, Cass and Harper. There were a few instances where a word was off, either by tense or some other typo, but to me its no big deal, it didn't disrupt the flow of the story. The plot moved at a good pace and the story was full of twists and turns to keep you interested. Some things I could see coming, but others had me surprised. Great story, thanks for giving me the opportunity to read and review for you.

I wanted to give this book a 6 star rating..it was that good.

Cassandra was on fire at 700 years old, she was still hot, and looking for action.
She came to Hasley's Island along with the other mirror warriors for the fundur.

That where she met Harper, and her life was out of control after that first contact.

I can't stop now, this book was like a paranormal reunion, with all of your favorite ghosts, Werewolvies, witches, shapeshifters,
valkyries, sirens, selkies and the humans.

This was not a friendly meeting all the old hate was still in place, but had to take a back when mirrors started coming up were missing.

    A great read love it,

I can't wait until the next book.
