A good cookbook, but a better cultural book
There are a good many late Victorian and Edwardian cookbooks available, some far more comprehensive. But this one has the advantage of tying in nicely with an excellent program and with providing the readers with some background on the culture in our favorite abbey. A worthwhile purchase. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

What a good book. Downton Abbey fans are urged to check it out.
The BBC series 'Downton Abbey' showcases life in the Edwardian era, and a great deal of that life came from its kitchens. This book is filled with recipes that may have been served at the real Downton Abbey, Highclere Castle.
Buy this book and treat yourself to some of Edwardian England's finest cuisine.
