I think she did a great job on this book. Unlike her previous books, she made her plot the main theme and the sex end a secondary part of the story and I think that was a big improvement. The plot always left you wondering what and who was around the corner and who was the Cobra. This book is a big improvement over a lot of her others where sex dominated good plots and drowned out the plots. I only hope the following Black Cobra books will follow the same theme. This book had it all: great plot, varied locations and life styles; intrigue; romance and a good mix of all. That, to me, is what makes a good book. Great start on what looks like to me will be a good series. Nice to see all of the Bastion Club members back too -- including my favorite character -- Dalziel.

Boring and too long - A snoozer!

Very disappointed. Way to long and boring. It seems SL books get longer and longer. Or maybe it just seems that way, she drags everything out. It would have been better if it was half the size. I couldn't take it any more. I skimmed through it, skipped a lot and f...
Very disappointed. Way to long and boring. It seems SL books get longer and longer. Or maybe it just seems that way, she drags everything out. It would have been better if it was half the size. I couldn't take it any more. I skimmed through it, skipped a lot and finally just gave up. I NEVER DO that!

Way too good to pass up!

Stephanie Laurens once again grabs me with the second book of the Black Cobra Series. I couldn't wait to finish and start the next book!

    more from this reviewer

Another fun book with adventure and love at the center.

In the second installment of the Black Cobra, the reader follows the travels of Gareth Hamilton complicated by the appearance and involvement of Emily Ensworth (who has decided that Major Hamilton is the man for her). The Black Cobra knows that Emily deivered the letter that Hamilton is now trying to transport to England and so they are both in danger. Again the Black Cobra's followers work to recover the incriminating letter as well as eliminate those that are involved. Gareth and Emily protect each other while expanding their personal relationship.
