What a Great Surprise! Being of a very quiet, reserved nature, I do not laugh out loud frequently. My wife was amazed as I sat and read this book, Laughing Out Loud the whole time I was reading it. It's hilarious and I highly recommend for anyone who just wants to have a great laugh. If you're looking for a book that will change the values of our society, this is probably not it. But if you're looking for some light moments to cheer an otherwise blah time, I'm sure there will be a good belly laugh in there for you. If you don't want folks staring at you funny or thinking you're weird, you might choose to not read it while in a public forum....because, rest assured, folks will stare at you, wondering what you are finding so hilarious. Time spent laughing is time spent with the Gods (someone wiser than I once said that) and your time spent reading this book will certainly be a time of laughter. If you like to laugh, you simply have to try this book. Don't let the unusual name of the book intimidate you, (Lindsay's bad) when inquiring about this book. Don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly exceeded my expectations when it came to good old fashion laughing. Try it and laugh yourself into a good mood.

The Wacky Prank Call of Books!

Have you ever seen someone trying to sell a couch on Craigslist and thought "Someone should take that arrogant jerk down a peg! Who does he think he is, trying to sell a couch? I hope he gets what's coming to him."

Have you ever seen someone trying to sell a couch on Craigslist and thought "Someone should take that arrogant jerk down a peg! Who does he think he is, trying to sell a couch? I hope he gets what's coming to him."
Then good news! From the creators of 4chan and every morning radio talk show comes "E-mails from an A**hole."

This book is jam packed with e-mails from the author to someone who had the unmitigated gall to use Craigslist that your 13 year old will find hilarious while high!
Enjoy such classic pranks as "I'm a serial killer who wants to use your couch to kill people" and prepare to have your sides split as the seller replies "No." and "I'm not going to sell you the couch."

But that's not all! Laugh hysterically as the author 'hires' people on Craigslist to steal things. These idiots are so stupid, all they can do is reply "No." Those jerks really had it coming and had no clue what hilarious prank was being played on them.

The key to the humor comes from the fact that Craigslist is meant to be a place where people sell and exchange goods and services, but this genius of an author has instead used it to send misleading e-mails of things high school boys would have found offensive in the 80's.

Be prepared to enjoy hours of reading pleasure as the author provides a Mad-Libs-esque cavalcade of comedy with the formula "Seller: I'm selling something"; "Author: I want to buy it, but I'm going to use it to kill someone or rob someone or something else asinine"; "Seller; I'm not going to sell it to you."; "Author: Why not? Haven't I explained how offensive I am?"; "Author: Your lack of reply means I've won!"
Every e-mail is just that hilarious. Hundreds of them.

Not to mention that they are all totally real. Really. I knew a guy who knew a guy that saw it happen. So did my sister's friend. It's totally true, you guys.

So if you aren't pretentious like that high brow Howard Stern or the classy people over on /b, then "E-mails..." is the book for you. Pick it up after your full frontal laboratory. It's the funniest thing since a middle-schooler' YouTube parody song.

    Hilarious Read

Very clever scenarios that are played out in this book. Fast and enjoyable read. Seriously could never be as dedicated to a pank as the author is in this book. Props to him for being a practical joke mastermind and sharing it with us.

    Absolutely Hilarious

As the title suggests, the language is a little much. But if you can get past that, you probably won't be able to help yourself from laughing hysterically!! I was honestly laughing out loud for most of it. Well done!

    Very funny

If you have a slightly warped sense of humor as I do, you'll find this very funny. I was laughing out loud through a lot of it. Some of it is a little crude, but otherwise really funny.

This book is really funny and a pretty quick read

We read this book outloud during a car trip and got halfway through it on the way to our destination. There is a lot of profanity, but that is the way some people do talk when they are irritated. If you ever wanted to mess with someone via email just for sport, the author does it. If you are a jokester or aspire to become a jokester, this book is for you.

    The greatest ABS workout ever!

While browsing through B&N I noticed this book displayed on a table. Curious about the title, I started thumbing through the book. I immediately started grinning, which turned into snickering and ended up with me SOL (snorting out loud). Not to mention my gut ached from cracking up so hard. John is an evil genius that is just creatively pointing out how many stupid people there are in the world and having a little fun. Good job John, thanks for convincing me never to post anything on Craigslist! I bought this book as a Christmas gift for a friend who loves to laugh and am sharing the website link with everyone I know.

    pretty funny and entertaining.

This book made me laugh out loud at times and it also made me think twice about how I put an ad online or how I respond to an ad on line. The author made a really good point with this book in a very funny way.

    Laugh Out Loud

Okay. I would have given this book less stars, but it kept my teenager entertained and got him to read something.
I have to admit that a lot of it was super funny. But, some were boring or just plain mean. Although, most of the people were just asking for it!
John Lindsay is a funny, mean, and brilliantly creative jerk. I think the last e-mailer in the book (Joe) said it best. He just doesn't quit!
Laugh out loud funny, offensive and very entertaining.
(Also, I would have taken him up on some of his offers. Like the dinosaur movie truck and the Vietnam Vet for the Halloween party!)
