    I'm am so hooked!

I typically read books over a few weks, but this this time, I was finished in two days! This book really captured my attention and held it! I was so excited to hear of a book about my two favorite genres. Not only does this book revolve around vampires, it also delves deep into religion and of the conflicts that I think many of us have with the church. But Price does it in such a way that no one is the enemy. The sermon chapters are incredibly powerful, and I have found myself rereading them in my own times of doubt. This book also has the element of mystery, especially in the second half. I can't wait for the next book, because I am totally hooked. I recently got the soundtrack from the authors website, and it too is simply amazing! If you don't have it go to the daimonprice.moonfruit.com site, it wasn't that expensive.

A book that everyone sees differently

This book, Embrace of the Sun:In Shadows, is truly an amazing piece of work. I gave the title five stars because I truly believe that it gets peoples' attention and opens a window of imagination that they did not know was there. I feel that this title alone allows the reader to connect with the author. Some people see the title and imagine the different possibilities of how you could embrace the sun even in shadows. It gets them curious and then they want to read the excellent material inside. This title also gives people hope as it is saying that the sun can be embraced in the shadows. It also gives a sense of mystery. After having read the book three times, I feel that I can truly relate to the book in my own way of course. But, from what I have observed from everyone reading this book is that it is that people can connect to it. Every piece of information has its own sentimental value and I feel that this book is excellent because of that. In other words, every piece has a multiple meaning. If you have not read this yet, I suggest that you do. It will open your eyes to a whole new world. My compliments to Damion Price on this wonderful accomplishment.

    Comforting and Mysterious

This tale is so unbelievably captivating from the moment you read page one. You are immediately enthralled in the first scene in Chapter One and from there, it is just an entrancing and comforting experience. The way the characters develop is so realistic. Some of their decisions within the story are totally unexpected which indeed is how real people sometimes live. You never know what you will do when faced with a particular decision. You think you know until it actually happens and that is what I like about the character development in this book - the characters appear real. What is also great about this book is the constant mystery that you feel as you read through and try to sort out the story. This sort of 'ethereal mystery' continues until the last couple of chapters where questions you had during previous chapters are answered and revealed! It is truly refreshing to read such breathtaking and eloquent words in this enchanting tale of intriguing life trials and of love . . . a love for God, a love of family, and a love between two very different, yet analogous and parallel beings. I highly recommend this book to those who want to drift off into a charismatic and comforting fantasy that truly touches the heart.

Embrace of the Sun: In Shadows

I have to admit that I didn't buy this book. I borrowed it from a friend. However, had I known this book was so good I would've bought one. I have only read two vampire books before, both by Anne Rice. But I was turned off by all of the graphic sex and language. That is what I found so refreshing about this book. Nothing graphic, nothing lude, just an elogant and romantic tale. I love the relationship that develops between the two lead charecters, and am so excited to see how their destiny unfolds. I see that the author dedicated this book to his wife...lucky lady! I have read in other reviews that Daimon Price has his own website and CD. I checked that address but got a 'coming soon' message. It can't come soon quick enough for me. I can't wait to learn more about this unique author and his Embrace of the Sun series.

Embrace of the Sun: In Shadows

Half way through the book I was completely hooked. The strange connection between the vampire charecter and the heorine reminded me so much of Catherine and Vincent from the classic TV series 'Beauty and the Beast'. I loved that show, and I love this book. It would make a great TV show in its own right. Especially if there are other books in the series. There may not be alot of action, but the chapters feel more like movements of a symphony. They are paced just so to keep us wanting more in anticipation. As far as the religious thing, I don't mind that. I personally am not a Christian, but I have respect for what the author is trying to do by viewing the vampire as more than just a blood lusting killer. The only problem with the book is that there are some typo kinds of mistakes. By the way, I love the large print format. It made it a much more pleasant read. Barnes and Nobles should make mention that it is in large print. My teenage daughter has begun reading it and immidiately commented on how easy it is for her to read. Can't wait to find out what happens to these charecters in the next book.

Embrace of the Sun: In Shadows

My first observation on this book is that its a little confusing. There are many charectors thrown at us in ACT I, and they don't really appear again except for some flashbacks. I understand that their will be 8 more books in this series, so I hope these charectors return. I really do like the lead charector, as I found him to be quite believable. I only wish there were more scenes with him, but again, I assume there will be more time devoted to him in the future books. As far as the 'christian perspective', I see how the seed has been planted, and I am very interested in seeing how Price will blend the Christian / Vampire genres throughout the series. I was happy enough with this novel to read the next one. I have heard about this soundtrack, but have not been able to find it. One more critique, I found some annoying typos throughout the book. I guess I can't blame the author, but Fultus should be more careful before releasing a book.

    SUPERB!!!

I found this book to be so inspiring that I found it hard to put it down. I can't believe this author waited this long to produce such an exceptional book. Its too bad I have to wait until October for the next installment. The CD soundtrack is the most relaxing and emotionally stimulating music I have ever heard. I'm still waiting for the website to go up, then everyone else can get a hold of the soundtrack. If you enjoy a good spiritual story, this book id for you!

Embrace of the Sun: In Shadows

A Christian vampire story? Thats what I thought, but you know, I have to admit that this story is well told and makes sense. I really liked the charectors, though there were a lot to know in the beginning. I also loved the soundtrack. It puts you right in the story! My only complaint is that it is a bit slow in ACTs III and IV, but the surprises are well worth the build up!

    Coolness in the gothic sense

Cool charectors, intense imagery, and clever plot twists. My friends also loved this book! The soundtrack is also emotional and powerful. I would recommend this to anyone, even if you are not a Christian. I'm Wickin, and still loved this Book.

    Disappointing

I had high hopes that this would be a great book. The premise is unique - a Christian vampire. But I found the author's writing style juvenile and simplistic. It was somewhat confusing as well. Very difficult to follow the characters, and poor character development. Plus, why so many typos? Seems as though the author is an amature wannabe. I won't purchase another in the series.
