The Emotional Life of the Toddler

Very Helpful in Understanding your Toddler!

This book was recommended to me by another Mom in my Mother's Club and I really liked liked it! It really helped me understand my toddler better. It is very interesting as the author did extensive research with families and toddlers for years, observing their behavior and trying to understand why they do what they do. How they want two things at one time and when they do not get them, throw a tantrum! It seems the best way to avoid tantrums is to head them off before they start, if possible! I have read many books and this one really stood out to me, coming from a more pyschological point of view.

Should be on every parents' nightstand

I have read dozens of books about the social development of children in the early years. The author did an excellent job incorporating theories with real-life experiences. This book is great for parents who are interested in promoting the emotional well-being of their toddler, as well as their own. The information provided by the author is up-to-date and very helpful as a reference. Some of the vignettes had me chuckling out loud. Definately a must read.
