    Good end to the series

Well my journey with Belgariad has come to an end and this book I must admit ended. I was scared at first that it was going to go back to the crap that was the first three books but it pulled through in the end.

As far as the series overall it seems to me that most people who seem to love this series started off their love of fantasy with this series or reasd it as a child or in their teens. I on the other hand was already a devout reader of fantasy and I read many classics. I then was told to read this and found the series to be good but no where near great. These books has some good points but also many flaws.

It took me three and a half books to finally feel something for any of the characters and I really had little to no knowledge of the villians. So when the clash between good and evil takes place there is little to no build up in excitement. I mean I've asked people who their favorite characters were and they easily answer. When I ask which character they hate, it is a little more difficult and they always choose one of the good guys (because they annoy them or something). How could you hate the villians in this story, you nothing about them. Like I said the fact that I read "Lord of the Rings", "A Song of Fire and Ice", "Wheel of Time", and others before reading this probably makes my opinion differ. I am sure if I read this as a child or a teen I probably would love it and have fond memories of this, because only a child or teen could call this series great.

    I Also Recommend:

    Same old yet different!

Good series if your into fantasy and magic. A boy is opened to whole new world and doesn't believe he is part of. Slowly believes in himself, is tested over time, learns from his elders then overcomes the bad. Hero theme with lots of interesting characters, each with a distinctive flare. Reads quick and is a great little escape.

    Pure escapism

Not usually into this type of fantasy writing, but Eddings is great. Keeps your attention. Makes you want to keep reading, and full of nice little twists and turns. Can't wait to start the next series of Edding's books.

Eddings Couldn't Have Finished it Better

Mr. Eddings could not have finished the series any better. He weaves a great story, and the way things come together in the end is amazing. I read the entire series in two weeks - it was ALL great!! I feel very satisfied with the way it ended. If you have read the first four books in the series, this is an ABSOLUTE MUST, and, if you are new - BEWARE: if you start the series, expect to be buying a few more Eddings books in the near future. Enjoy.
