I stayed up until 2 a.m. to finish this book; I could just not put it down! Each chapter has three components: what is happening at a specific time of day, the day of the Tap Pups Spring Show 2011; a story of at least one Tap Pup that Vicki sees as she is passing by and looking at what all of her Tap Pups are doing; and then a flashback to her life that is based on that particular Tap Pup's story. The book is a memoir of her life, and it builds and builds until the reader is moved to tears, and then finally to joy at the end! Well written, literate, and enjoyable for all, not just tap dancers! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I loved this book. Even if you don't really care about dancing (I can't claim to be a big tap fan), Vicki's story is a page-turner. It's interesting to read about a fiercely independent woman who gave that up for a life of marriage and family, then found her way back to herself through dance. Also, some of the stories of her dancers are just remarkable. I promise you'll never get bored with this title. 100% recommended.

LOVED IT!!
I loved this story! I am 72 and dance with a group that ranges from 44 - our teacher, to the oldest at 85. It is such wonderful exercise. Ms. Riordan just wrote it like it is in real life. Thanks so much for sharing your life with us.
