    worst book ever

This book is not very helpful. If you have endo and need to know more, do not read this book. Like the disease, it is confusing. The book is poorly written and full of jargon. It is also quite annoying, with its Joe with Endo cartoons. The book is very depressing too and paints a horrible --- and pessimistic --- picture for those with endo.

    THE book on endo!

Readers may not like the fact that Ballweg does not give one answer on what to do if you have endo. That's because there is no one answer for every woman. This book arms you with a lot of information that you need to digest and, in consultation with your healthcare providers, make your own decisions about your treatment. This is not easy--especially when your doctor disagrees or isn't up on the latest research. This book does talk about surgery and drug therapy--those have been standard treatments for years. She also talks about immunotherapy, environmental concerns, the relationship of endo to other immune system problems, what to do before you get pregnant to make sure your daughter doesn't get endo. Also the info that dioxin exposure is most likely to blame for most of our endo. All of this is a lot for a patient to take responsibility for, but if you want the best chance of getting well, you will read this book. Have a highlighter handy!
