Clear and easy plan for a better lifestyle
Couldn't have crossed paths with this book at a better time. Work had gotten the better of me, and I was feeling beaten, and sluggish and wasn't able to be my best self around friends and family. I just finished Energy Every Day and it definitely provided the information and momentum to get myself on a healthier track. There's a clear path from A to B, with information from across the spectrum - nutrition, breathing, physical activity - but it never overwhelmed me with data and hard science. It's clearly and comprehensively laid out, and their recommendations are simple to fold into our daily and weekly routines. Small changes, like 5 small meals versus 2 large ones, can reap large rewards that can get us closer to a happier, healthier, more enjoyable life.Was this review helpful? External motivation is a strong way to push us toward a healthier lifestyle, but where Energy Every Day really succeeds is in pulling us in, and establishing the internal motivation to make a change. I want to be where their plan takes me. It's not daunting, it's not a change so abrupt that it's good for a month and then we'll inevitably give up. It's a simple, well presented plan to live a more fulfilling life, and Woods and Jordan have given us what we need to get there. The rest is on us.
Sound advice for increasing your engagement in life
In world of quick fix solutions, this book provides useful, practical and, more importantly, sustainable guidance for increasing the energy you have to invest in the things you love to do. The authors provide simple to implement strategies for getting motivated, creating a plan and sticking to it. They make it sound easy and fun, which it is! I have been a fan of the Human Performance Institute's program for almost two years and have practiced these techniques. They are indeed practical and, as a result, every day I feel I have more energy to enjoy my work, to tackle challenges with a more positive attitude, and that I also have plenty of reserves to spend quality time with my partner and friends. My life felt quite chaotic, frenetic and draining before I put these techniques into practice. Now my life feels rich and focused. Thank you!Was this review helpful?
