Excellent overview of a complex subject
Well-written. Moves along like a novel. Author has an annoying tendency at times toward melodramatic prose. This is a large book. Don't tackle it unless you're prepared to spend the time it deserves. My biggest complaint is the lack of maps, incredible in book that covers so much time and geography. Had this book had a few more maps, I would have been able to award it 5 stars. But it's still well worth reading . . . as long as you have a good atlas at hand. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
