Mystery is rather a new genre for me. For the most part I haven't read too many. This book appealed to me so I was very much looking forward to reading it. I felt for Sam and her being all alone in the world. I can't even imagine what that would be like and don't want to know. I liked that Bo saw a hurting girl and wanted to do all he could to help her which turns out to be an extraordinary gift to Sam. She takes over running Bo's retreat in a new town and meeting a host of new people some who become very important to her. Especially Noah who becomes her love interest. She leaves the big city just in time as she has been harassed and attacked by the neighbor. Things seem to go smoothly for awhile until there is a murder. Her idyllic life all of sudden starts to fall apart. I thought I had this mystery figured out until the end when the author revealed the culprit, and boy was I wrong. I look forward to reading more from this author. This book was provided for my honest review by the author. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Escape to Big Fork Lake is a wonderfully written story.
Sam finds herself in a situation that has her struggling financially and spiritually. Sam has lost her job and is surviving barely, on unemployment and a small amount of saving that will soon run out. She is enthusiastic to finding work but no one will hire her. Her life is falling apart and Sam just can’t catch a break!
Rob, a neighbor in her apartment building, is becoming increasingly violent towards her. She wakes one night to find him in her apartment. She realizes she must flee, but where does she go? She has lived in the city all her life; she doesn’t have the means financially to run….what will happen to Sam?
Buy the book and read how God provides for Sam. You’ll be delighted and surprised!
Escape to Big Fork Lake is a story about emotional loss, abandonment, intrigue, and love! A mystery that involves murder and suspense, but most importantly, it’s a story of redemption!
Well written - a beautiful story! I recommend this book highly.
Thank you Mary L Ball for sending me a free copy so that I could review it!

Great book, with a little romance, a little suspense and a whole
Great book, with a little romance, a little suspense and a whole lot of Christ. Sam's journey goes from bad luck to even worse luck. But along the way she finds hope, God and love. This is a great christian book, I would recommend to everyone. The main charters present Christ in a way that could lead to a deeper and greater understanding of a true relationship by trusting Christ. The author Mary L. Ball took on some tough questions about why bad things happen and why some die and answered them with truth and grace. My first book by this author but it will not be my last. Was this review helpful? For five years Samantha (Sam) Blacker and Bo met at the same time each year at Baker’s Sandwich Shop. They enjoyed each other’s company. Bo would tell her about Jesus and Sam shared a little about her life with him. Sam dated her neighbor Rob a few times until she saw his true nature. When she told him she would not go out with him again, he began harassing her. Fearing for her safety she took out a restraining order against him. When Bo’s attorney, Clarence Wright, informed Sam that John Bolden Winston “Bo” had passed away and left her the Big Fork Inn & Eats at Big Fork Lake, Alabama, Sam saw it as a way to escape the clutches of Rob. She quickly packed her bags and took up residence in the apartment above the restaurant. The Sheriff was suspicious of the new comer in town. However, one local was glad she’d moved to Big Fork Lake; Noah found himself falling in love with her. Just as Sam was settling in she stumbled over the dead body in cabin 7. Soon she found herself charged with murder and was facing trial.
"Escape to Big Fork Lake" by Mary L. Ball is an entertaining Christian suspense-filled romance. The relationship between Noah and Sam is well done. They loved and desired each other but held strong to their Christian morals and remained celibate. I wasn’t sure who did the heinous crime until toward the end of the book. There were clues thrown in and red herrings. "Escape To Big Fork Lake" is a fast, easy read and a great cozy mystery.

Sam is in for a life change when she is down on her luck she gets the break she needs. This inspiration romance that is filled with mystery and suspense had me hooked till the last word was read. I truly felt this story was well thought out and had a message of Gods love for each and everyone of his children. It was nice to watch Sam and Noah relationship grow. Noah learning to trust and Sam having someone love her no matter what. I also liked watching Sam come to know Jesus. Ms. Ball did an awesome with putting in some of the unexpected to this story. This is a really good book. Sam received her dream even though she didn't know it at the time. This novel shows how even when bad things happen they can become a blessing. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
