This very practical overview and guide through supply chain practice is well researched, well written, and a good read. I would recommend it for a wide range of readers and may be the right place to start if you are debating SCM investments, experiencing supply chain misalignment and need to figure out what corrective actions to drive, or if you simply desire to learn more about the supply chain in your business.
In addition to referring to industry best practice Hugos shares his own insights gathered through his many years of experience in the field. The combination proves to be very clear and very concise.

As an introductory text  in SCM it was a major contrition to easy an in depth learning. Students rated the book 4.3 on a 5 scale, of course cost often the number factor was not a factor, nor mentioned. Flow charts are excellent and offered a clear understanding of flow in and flow out. Combining the flow chart theory, and then the application and various changes and addition was a helpful learning tool as well .    I will be using this text again this fall for the online course. The book is easy to read , understand and the student assignment I wrote are directed to understanding how to prepare a flow chart for any business

A complicated topic made clear !

This book really makes supply chain management understandable. I appreciated the real world examples included in the executive insights. This book presents a set of clear and understandable frameworks to analyze the supply chains in which a company participates. These frameworks provide a common vocabulary for people to discuss the supply chain issues and opportunities in their company.
