Not your typical Vampire book
I really like any kind of vampire book out there and this one had potential to be a really good book, especially because the author made these vamps abilities and storyline very different then whats out there in the paranormal romance department. But the story seemed always on the verge of getting deep and substantial when boom the chapter ended, or the dialog changed. It was really frustrating. I also was upset that this book seemed like it was book 2 or 3 in the series nothing was openly explained about the life cycles or just how one grows up and then dies and repeats the process for 1500 years? what happens when you marry someone and have kids? how does that work out! It just wasn't explained. I don't know maybe I'm being hard on the book and author because the reviewers before me seemed to have really like the book...

I Enjoyed Reading This Book
I liked this book and will read the next one in the series. Fia is a FBI agent and also a Vampire, she's been assigned to work with FBI agent Glen Duncan, who happens to look like the man Fia once loved, and the man who betrayed her. Fia returns to her hometown when she learns that her cousin Bobby has been killed, by what appears to be the calling card of a vampire slayer, but of course Glen doesn't believe in Vampires. The Vampires in this book all eat food, and Fia's Mothers, bakes Muffins and owns a Bed and Breakfast, they also drink ale, Fia gets together with some girlfriends, at the beach and they have Martini's. At the end of the book we find out who the killer is, but questions still remain, to be answered, so I will be on the look out for the next book.

a fantastic vampire paranormal romantic suspense
During the fifth century when Christianity was on the rise, the Kahill sept of vampires rejected Him and developed a taste for power and blood. God damned them with eternal life each vampire dying and being reborn and with the onset of puberty, the memories of all their lives returned to them. The only way to kill them is to decapitate the head so the body can not regenerate and the soul can¿t return to the body. Fia led some slayers to her village and the sept was forced to leave their country and ended up in Clare¿s Point on theDelaware peninsular.--------------- In the present, Mia is an FBI agent and she is assigned by someone in the Senate to investigate the death of one of their own in Clare¿s point something that has never happened. She is forced to work with FBI agent Glen Duncan, the spitting image of her lover and the slayer who betrayed her three centuries ago. They have no evidence for the first death and the townsfolk are frightened that the slayers have found them again. Two more vampires are killed and like the rest of the sept, Fia is beginning to wonder if one of their own is the killer. In trying to rescue the fourth victim, Fia is captured Glen prays that he is not too late to rescue the woman he loves.------------------- God has given the sept a second chance and they have become protectors of humanity, hunting the predators that prey on the innocent drinking human blood and having a relationship with a human is strongly discouraged. They want to be redeemed and Fia feels the need more than the others because of the guilt she feels because she was the one who escorted her lover and the other vampire hunters to their small Irish village. The vampire mythos that V,K. Forrest invented is original and makes the reader empathize with the bloodsuckers. Fia is a strong willed beautiful vamp with a lot of hang ups but she is willing to fight for what she believes in and protect humanity from beings like herself. This is a fantastic vampire paranormal romantic suspense.-------------- Harriet Klausner

I just happened to pick this book up! So glad I did. It was a very twisting story which had me guessing. It kept me on my toes and wanting more. Lucky there are 2 more to go I can't wait to start the next one!

Definitely try this...
A new twist on the paranormal genre. I read this book on a whim...it was a free ebook download and I decided to give it a try. I have not regretted it. This is the 1st book in the author's Clare Point Series. (Clare Point is the town which most of the stories take place.) I got hooked to read all 3 books in the series. The author writes great characters and has built up a really good storyline while the reader learns the background of the new otherworld community. I was very entertained by this author's story....Her take on the vampires having life cycles and being re-born when they reach old age was very interesting. I highly recommend this book. Try this one and then read Undying and Immortal.

Can't wait for the next book in the series to be released! -
Great Read
I picked up this book on a whim.. I had a hard time putting the book down.. It had a good plot and the characters were amazing.. I liked the fact that there was alot of different types of characters and the different things they could do.. The overall is it is a clan of Vampires but each one has their own special ability.. Like shape shifting, seeing events before they happen, being able to set fires with your mind, and ALOT more.. Recommend..
