Every Young Woman's Battle Review

I didn't want to just give it 5 stars on everything, but really, this book deserves it! I am 19, and I SO wish I had read this as a young teen. It would have saved me (and others) so much heartache. It has helped me to see more accurately where I am now, where I should be, where I want to be, and who I am striving to be. It has given me Biblical insight and resources to live a more godly life. A must read for all girls, and though I have yet to read it, I'm sure Every Young Man's Battle is a must read for all boys, if it is anything like this book. It is so hard to keep your sexual integrity in this world, in this culture, especially when everyone tells you that you are backwards and wrong. But girls and boys, stay strong! There are people like you out there, and God will help you and see you through! Parents, I highly recommend this book. It really is a necessity, and will help if used with prayer and open, honest communication. Don't be afraid to talk about this stuff with your kids-it can only help, and very greatly.
Thank you Shannon and Stephen!

Sex is awesome! Ideally, it should be between two married people who are very much in love and have total respect for each other. Ideally, these two people will be virgins until this moment, two souls just waiting for each other.

But let's be realistic. This book is aimed at horomone-ridden teenage girls who are eager to fit in and be well-liked. This is not a product of the times - they are like this in most societies, just as they have been forever. Sexual urges are likewise not because of our "sex-saturated world", but because of human nature. It should also be pointed out that masturbation is nearly universal, and without "shameful" urges our species would not exist.

Sexual urges are not something to be stifled. They are normal, a natural product of hormones, chemicals in our brains that urge us to reproduce. That is not anti-Christian, that's fact. Sexual urges are what makes us have crushes, why most of us love romance novels, what makes us catch our breath when an especially good-looking boy comes our way. These are natural responses to our bodies saying, "Wake up, wake up, you can have sex now! Carry on the human race!"

What this book should have been about should not have been about smothering sexual desires but learning about what they are, why they exist, and how a young woman is to keep her head through all this pressure, from both peers and her body. Frankly, this book was a disappointment.

    Teenage girl writing a review

No offense yes this book is very informative but seeing as i am struggling along with a lot of sexual issues mentioned in this book, it really does not 'inform' if anything i didnt think that it was graphic enough. These days i have actually seen more sex on regular daytime tv than in this book. if your a girl that has had a lot of sexual expieriences you probably wont find this book informative. The author clearly cannot give advice for what she has not expierienced. so hopefully maybe some other authors will. not every girl comes from a peachy clean neighborhood where we were all taught christian values - i sure wasnt. I liked the book but it just wasnt 'informative' to me i dont know.

If you have sex before youre married...

If you have sex before youre married you wount feel shameful for the rest of your life and not everyone gets an STD. You yes take away something from your husband but to move on and not feel guilty or shameful and forgive yourself. Or you just dont care at all.
