You might not 'Jump' if you read this.

Not a bad read, Unfortunately it reminded me of an extended Hit Parader magazine article. No big revelations. Lots of fluff and fanfare. The book should have delved deeper into the real reason Eddie has not used his musical genius in more than 10 years.

Rehash of Facts for Hardcore VH Fans

If you are a new or mediocure VH fan, this book pulls all the public facts from VH music, interviews, press and the Internet into chronological order. If you are a hard-core VH fan, you already know all if this public information. Nothing new or insightful is contained in this book. Although the description boasts personal info about the band, nothing not already made public in interviews and the press is included. The band has done a great job of keeping their personal lives private. We'll have to wait for Valerie's memoirs for the insider's personal scoop. Anyone with Internet access and research capabilities could have written this book.

    I Also Recommend:

    Amusing read...

Long time Van Halen fan, figured I'd check this book out to learn a few nuggets. Mindless quick read - shows you how tough it is for 4 millionaires to get along, especially when the egos and booze start getting out of control.

I also agree with the previous reviewer. This seems like a collection of excerpts Hit Parader, Metal Edge, Circus, Creem and Rolling Stone magazine articles.

I do feel any young Van Halen fan (if there is such a thing) should read this as a historical reference.

It left me feeling that Eddie Van Halen hates to realize that he's no longer relevant to young guitarists. The Nirvana story was pretty tough for this long time EVH fan to read.

Standing Ovation for the New Hammer of the Gods

Well-timed to connect with Van Halen's reunion tour, this is the ultimate refresher course (or primer, for that matter) on the great, sorely missed Van Halen. I appreciated hearing about everything from the childhoods through the clubs, the MTV years, the Hagar times, and the struggles in recent years. Great book, a great read, and a great band, too.

    Get it before the show!

I forgot how much I've forgotten about Van Halen. It's nothing compared to what's in this book, though. A++
