This book is a very good introduction to the game of chess. Not only does it teach you how to play, but the majority of the book instructs you on how to become a good player. If you master the material in this book (if you understand it all and are able to apply most to all of it to your games) you can almost certainly reach a 1200 Elo or a little over. You may have to read it more than once (as there’s a lot of stuff to digest), but after you understand the material and have played several games, you will be able to beat almost any casual chess player. This book teaches the absolute beginner how to play and how to become quite good. It’s a great introduction to the game and puts you on the right track to becoming “really” good. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
