    Third time is the charm

Evil Ways is the second book in the Quincy Morris and Libby Chastain Supernatural Investigations. It starts with a heist at the Baghdad National Museum, the famed Book of Shadows is taken. In LA Quincy is hired to help with some ritualistic child murders on top of that white witches are being targeted and assassinated. This is an urban fantasy set in Harry Dresden's world inhabited with white witches black witches demons etc. the first in the series is "Black Magic Woman", I devoured that and then this one in a day and a half. It's a good read and Justin Gustainis is certainly a fresh voice in this field.

why would an author have his/her characters stop into another author's world?

I liked the book but I had a serious problem with the lead characters visiting the world of Harry Dresden. The magic the lead witch uses is exactly the sort of thing Dresden would have to kill. She uses magic to influence the will of people, messing with their heads. In the future, please keep the world's separate and send a fan letter to Jim Butcher instead.
