I read Exit Here during my summer break. I was looking for an unconventional novel, well I found one. Exit Here is the story of drug abuse, facing harsh realities, heartbreak, sex, and a young man's quest for an identity. With crude talk of wild nights, near constant drug use, and vulgar profanity Exit Here "went there" in a riveting way. Every moment I was hit with an "omg did he just say that?" gasp. I felt this book pushed the envelope and exposed a gritty, intense American subculture. Jason Myers came closer to the truth of American teens than many wish to acknowledge, stirring up controversy every step of the way.

honestly this book had potential, and probably had quite a good overall thing to say, but... well at parts Myers went way to far into detail in what we didn't need to know, and not enough into detail other times.
It began to disgust me way to much in parts and i had trouble getting to the end due to this.
it also defiantly seems like a more mature, if at all, teens book.

    Good story, poorly written

The story had a lot of potential but the author's writing was all over the place. I didn't even want to read it all the way through. I found it difficult to keep up with all the names as well.

Good Read but a little graphic

I liked the book although I was a little confused about him talking or whatever in the beginning. Jason Myers has a very unique style I admit though. As soon as I read the first chapter I couldn't stop. It was soooo good! This book is a little heavy, but not too much for me. I wouldn't recommend this to my friends, but maybe the older crowd.People were right when they said "NOT A BOOK FOR CHILDREN." Too late though xD

    I Also Recommend:

    crazy

This book is mind-boggling, but these things do go
on in real life. When Travis comes back home from Hawaii, he
is looking for a "safe haven", a place that he knows (or
once knew) and a main factor of his safe place is is ex girlfriend
Laura. When he comes to terms with the fact she has moved on,
he can't stop thinking about her. And hanging out with the same friends
isn't helping his drug-addiction or self confidence problem. But his dreams about the girl in Hawaii make him want things to be like they used to, to just forget about everything and continue his life in the city his Father "owns". But something has changed about him. Everyone who hung out with Travis before he left for Hawaii, and then came back home have noticed that he actually has a conscience now; and the little truths that were unknown come out. Besides all the sex, drinking, and drugging, the book is actually very deep. Travis' relationship with his family reflects the way he used to treat people in the past. I don't recommend this book to anyone who believes the world is a happy place that rains gum-drops.
