Exodus Good, but less than expected

As a fan of Utada Hikaru, I've listened to her music over the years, knowing generally what to expect. Her voice has matured and sounds lovely. However, this American debut album shows off her voice and vocal range very well, the lyrics are less than perfect. Exodus '04 and Let Me Give You My Love are perhaps, in one reviewers opinion, the best songs, but don't worry, there are still a few more. The majority of the album isn't something I particulary enjoyed, but listening again and again the music grows will grow on you. Her style is very unique, and credit must be given where it is due. This CD is typical of many American CDs--a few favorite tracks and some not-so-hot tracks. In the end, the CD is worth buying, if you like her style or feeling open to listening something you've never heard before.

    Utada is talented.

I love her, and I have the deepest respect for her. I did feel, however, that EXODUS was an Okay cd from Utada Hikaru. She is a good writer and I recommend this to her fans definately. Others with an open mind might find this album intersting. Listen and enjoy it for what it is. Not for what it's NOT.
