THE FUN IS IN THE LISTENING

A lot of the fun in listening to this audio book is hearing the voices of the four talented readers who deliver all of this advice in chatty, conversational tones. It's a bit like listening to good friends share their hard earned wisdom. As for the wisdom, well, much of it's practical yet on the light side - Heloise tells us how to do laundry, and Bob Vila weighs in on painting a room. Manners are a must, so Letitia Baldridge offers instructions on the appropriate way to shake hands, and Peggy Post's pointers center on setting a formal table. Larry King lets us know how to listen, and even though you thought you didn't need any advice in this area, Bikram Choudhury offers hints on how to breathe for a healthier you. The list of celebs imparting expertise is lengthy and well chosen for the variety of topics. Even Mrs. Fields divulges her secrets for those famous Chocolate chip Cookies. Who could resist?

    A must-have

The Experts' Guide is indispensable -- it teaches you everything from how to hold a baby to how to negotiate -- straight from the true superstars. It's not only a great reference guide, but is very enjoyable to read. My husband and I have literally fought over it at night - we'll have to buy another copy so we can both enjoy it. I highly recommend this book; I don't know how I survived without it!

    A Life Primer

I heard about this book on the radio and went to buy a copy. I am hooked. The chapters that appealed to me, how to remember names, and how to make conversation, were trumped by others that I found just as insightful. I am going to send this to my clients and a couple of friends for the holidays. This is one of those books that belongs on every book shelf.
