In this book, the next installment of the Mitch Rapp series, readers are once again not disappointed. The author, Vince Flynn, keeps up the suspense until the last second as Rapp must make a point to politicains too selfish to understand what he does while at the same time, he must find and thwart a terror attack. Vince Flynn delves into the politics of our nation's capitol and gives an honest depiction of what goes on behind the closed doors of the D.C. insiders. Mitch Rapp's complex character is once again displayed as he ignores political correctness and his superiors to do the right thing as he attempts to rid the world of evil. A true fan of suspense novels will be very appreciative of the novel Extreme Measures as it goes beyond any thriller I have ever read in plot and politics.

A strong series has been getting progressively worse over the last three books. Readers understand and read this series because of the strong Rapp character who has undying focus on rooting out the terrorist organization. The reader does not need to be preached too constantly throughout the book that terrorism is bad and the government must have extreme latitude in dealing with the threat. Your fans get that! Mr. Flynn, please get back to the tight plots. On positive side, it appears that Mr. Flynn is getting back to character development which was lacking in the past two books. I consider this book strike one of three before Mr. Flynn is delegated to the same pile of junk as James Patterson and Patricia Cornwell

Like All the Rest of His Books

Light,anti-terrorism. Quick read. Only value is better then staring at TV.

    I Also Recommend:

Not as good as the others, but ok.

This book might as well have been 'Mike Nash Series #1'. Rapp was more of a secondary character than in previous books, which was a disappointment. Don't get me wrong, the plot was good, but I was wondering (after reading 3/4's of the book) if Flynn was going to be able to wrap it up in time. And he did, but I still have some questions, such as 'What happened to Farim after he got out of the Suburban in the parking lot of the NCTC?' He never got around to telling us; maybe he'll get around to it in 'Pursuit of Honor', which from what I understand, is somewhat of a follow-up to 'Extreme Measures'. As far as I'm concerned, Flynn should've put a 'To be continued....' at the end. Not his best, but I still think highly of Flynn.

Okay-where did this come from? Bring back one of the older characters and the old Mitch PLEASE!

Overall, I liked this book-and I LOVE the mitch rapp character....but this really kinda blew me away..I wish that Flynn would've left out the new character, who was interesting..but not Mitch and brought back the Senator Michael O'Rourke or someone more interesting.

Not as good as previous books - I miss Mitch

Mitch Rapp was a secondary character in this book until 2/3 of the way through. The story line dragged a bit, not as exciting as previous books in this series.
I like the Nash character, but he is not the same conflicted Mitch Rapp we have come to love. Nash has other deamons and challenges that bog the story line down and take you away from the thriller aspect of previous books.
I usually read Vince Flynn books quickly, but this one I kept putting down and then coming back to.
Overall, I was a bit disappointed.

    Where is Rapp?

Having read all of Vince Flynn's books on Mitch Rapp I was sorely disappointed in this one. Rapp is hardly a part of this book compared to the others and his character is weak I thought. The story was actually silly. It started out pretty nicely but once back in the US it was complete boredom, at least for me. I would have never recognized this being written by Vince Flynn. Hopefully he will waken from his stupor for the next book. I give it a 3 because some parts were good but I would never recommend this book to purchased unless you find it in a bargain bin where it belongs.
