What a great book! Our New England weather is always a topic of conversation and this book addresses the best of the best with our "extreme" New England weather over the past 100 plus years. I loved reading the features written by the meteorologists, past and present, from all the New England states. Since the book is organized by types of extreme weather, it makes it easy to find information on particular storms. As a 4th grade teacher, I already have a copy of this book in my classroom for students to use as a reference, and for high interest non-fiction reading. The features in the book are great examples of how to make non-fiction reading appealing to every reader. Featured contributors, questions and answers(labeled 'you be the judge') and interesting facts along with 'Josh's judgements' keep any readers' attention. This book will be a powerful mentor text for my students as we begin our non-fiction writing unit. However, it is a wonderful resource for families since the readablity covers a wide range of ages.

Can't wait for this book!
Like many, I'm a weather lover here in New England. This book had way more info and pictures than I was expecting, what a great book it is. Now I have to get more copies so I can give them as Christmas gifts.
