Jonathan Welton has done an excellent job in capturing the true path to freedom from lust and sexual sin. Many books on this subject tackle outward things like bouncing the eyes, having an accountability partner, etc. While these things may demonstrate to a certain degree a level of freedom, they treat the symptoms without addressing the disease. Jonathan exposes the truth that Christ's finished work on the cross is what is truly needed to bring the appropriate heart change, and he settles for nothing less than God's best for the Christian man on this topic that consumes so many men in modern society. This book definitely has two thumbs up in my opinion!

I wasn't sure what to think when I received this ebook as part of the Destiny Image Reviewer's Program since I am a woman. However, this book has impacted me.
This book is full of truth. The author, Jonathan Welton built this book firmly on the foundation of Scripture; he is tremendous scholar and expositor of Scripture.
The book first walks through your identity as a son/daughter of God. This section is tremendously powerful and hard-hitting. The book then walks through who the enemy is. These two sections of the book comprise the majority of the book. They are an incredible guide to freedom from any kind of sin, not just sexual (though the target of male sexual sin is inherent). At the end of each chapter is a tool (a really helpful tool) to help you apply what you learned. The last section talks about who women really are in relationship to men. This emphasizes one of my favorite chapters, which teaches you that you shouldn't do this "but rather" do this. This book teaches us to walk to our identity, rather than listening to the enemy's lies.
I couldn't recommend this book any more highly no matter what kind of sin (or even if you're a woman!) you are struggling with...it will reveal the truth of Scripture that will bring freedom and restoration that you've never known.

This book is more than a book about freedom from sexual temptation and struggles; it is a book about finding who you really are in Christ and operating from that perspective through your life. Most people struggle with various issues, and this book really helps a person identify what freedom in Christ is all about. We live often by the law rather than the Spirit, and we struggle to find wholeness the way the Lord intended. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This book helps you look at those self defeating mindsets and rethink where you are and who you are. Even truths we have been taught will be looked at to help us understand why what we have done in the past hasn't worked. No matter what you have tried, no matter how you have failed, there is an answer that will stick, and one that will give you hope as you work your way through this book into real freedom.
Relationship with the Lord is the root of your success, it always will be what directs you into the fullness of your real destiny. It also is what makes you whole and strong in the process of becoming all you can be in God. In Christ we look forward and not backward. Strengths and faith are built as we recognize and identify with who He is in us. Freedom is found in Christ, and we must identify and operate from the Christ in us, and flow out of that source of power that overcomes the world.
The Author, Jonathan Welton, discusses his own struggle, and gives you real answers. It is a book that looks at what has not worked as well as what will work, and the author knows this from his own experience. This book will help you break free from guilt, and shame, and lift you into the real life of Christ that He intended you live. A real life of victory and freedom, and not one that stumbles through life. You will finally be able to run the race and win! No longer seeing yourself with the wrong view and finally recognizing you are who God says you are, and you can live a life filled with worth and value. Each chapter is a building block to freedom, so start reading now. You will find the end of chapter questions helpful as you are encouraged to analyze and apply the information you just read.

“Eyes of Honor: Training for Purity and Righteousness” is refreshing in its style, radical in its approach, and restorative in its message. Jonathan Welton addresses the issues of determining a correct understanding of our identity in Christ, the land mines to avoid – the Devil, the Law, temptation, and shame, if we want to live an overcoming life, and how we should perceive a woman’s value.
Jonathan uses practical down to earth life applications, lessons from his own experiences of brokenness and liberating Biblical truth to lead the reader to find answers in their quest to find lasting freedom and healing, and to establish true Christian core values. I especially appreciated his solid and sound Biblical teaching, using revelation, exegesis and example to present complex theological concepts with an easy to grasp clarity.
Each chapter includes tools, intended to help the reader put lessons from the chapter into practical use and implementation. His underlying purpose is to equip Christian men for leadership by taking control of your life, identify the root problem, affirm your identity, walk in purity, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.
Although Jonathan is uncompromising and nonjudgmental in his stance he introduces materials that may sound radical to readers steeped cultural views of womanhood , current counseling behavioral modification, twelve step programs and the church emphasis on having an accountability partner.
“Eyes of Honor” delivers a powerful message of hope, deliverance from the bondage of sin of lust, empowerment to supernatural living, and training Christian men for leadership and ministry.”

A great book for Christian men
Eyes of Honor is a book that tackles the whole problem of sexual temptation and lust in a positive manner, this is no easy 12 steps to recovery but rather a radical biblical response to a problem that many men face. At the end of each chapter there is a section titled “tool” to get the full benefit from this book and to apply to your own life, please don’t skip this because it will really help you.Was this review helpful? The author starts out by sharing his own story and this is very illuminating as it assures the reader that the author has tried all the formulas on offer and found them wanting. Many men will be able to identify with the struggles that Jonathan Welton recounts. He demonstrates the weakness of many of the formulas given within the church, the greatest problem he and a multitude of men face is being categorised as a sex addict. the problem with this is that it tends to make men perceive themselves as beyond help doomed to struggle. they see themselves as addicts and this distorts their sense of identity.
Section one of the book deals with a Christian man’s identity in Christ, the author here shows that rather than being victims Christians have a new vision of themselves in Christ. The chapters in this section are powerful tools for regaining the vision of who we are in Christ, the chapter heading say it all, “You are Powerful” You are Valuable” You are not your actions” “You are crucified in Christ” and ”You are a new creation”. These chapters spell out the riches we have in Christ, the emphasis is on what the Bible teaches and there are some good passages which apply the scriptures to the subject of our identity in Christ. In chapter 5 we also have a very helpful refutation of the gnostic teaching that has affected much Christian teaching on sanctification. This section deals with this problem in a profound but simple way. in chapter 6 we are reminded that we are a new creation in Christ, this positive teaching is a great aid to those struggling with temptation because it focuses one attention on what Christ has made us instead of centering on the problem.
Section two of the book is titled “Who is the Enemy?” in this section we are shown that the devil is a defeated foe, we don’t have to fear him but we do need to be aware of his tactics so that we can live in victory. The chapter on the law examines the true function of the law and helps one to see the pattern of biblical teaching. this is followed by an excellent chapter on temptation and the way God has provided a way of escape. The chapter on shame, this chapter helps us to see that in Christ we are forgiven and that there is no longer any need to feel shame, there is a very helpful section that shows the difference between God’s convicting us of sin, righteousness and judgement and shame that comes from our feelings about ourselves. Conviction leads to repentance and receiving God’s forgiveness which has already been paid for on the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Section three is titled “Who is she?” here we are confronted with the biblical teaching about who women are and how we are to perceive them, the chapter heading are “She is your sister” “She is worth protecting” and “She needs love”, the teaching here shows how we need to treat all women with dignity, some of the examples given in this chapter show how God can work in the lives of women caught up in the sex industry when men treat them with love, compassion and honor.
This book is strongly recommended to all men

This book is really good. I have read Jonathan Welton’s other books and they were really good but this one is the best he has written. It’s so amazing to see how God healed and restored him to purity. What an amazing testimony. I had watched the interview on Sid Roth but the book is so much better. And as you read the book you can feel that something has been deposited in your spirit. An impartation of living a life of purity and righteousness. I believe that if anyone is struggling in any bondage of addiction if they read this book they will be encouraged in knowing that there is no situation which is beyond deliverance. God can turn an impossible and hopeless situation around and make vessels of purity come out of the situation. God is really amazing!!!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I found the “Eyes of Honor” book to be an excellent book about how to change the way we see ourselves and the causes and events that have shaped us into stepping into addiction. While 12 step addiction programs propose behavior modification relief in addiction, this book reveals that it is a band aid approach because it does not deal with the root of the heart issue. This book gives a step by step biblical approach on how to change the way you see yourself. The author gives his testimony about how he progressed from seeing himself as powerless to powerful and made the choice to identify with his new identity in Christ. There are many scripture references and examples given in this book that help dispel the misconceptions that addicts face on their road to healing and freedom. I found this book to be a breath of fresh air. Because this book confirms to me that we don’t have to accept the addict label for the rest of our lives and we can make the choice to be powerful when we know our true identity in Christ. I recommend this book to those people who are tired of behavior modification to deal with addiction issues and want a permanent heart change. A complimentary ebook was provided to me by the publisher. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Eyes of Honor will hit your right where you need it! This book targets as a man's common struggle with Sexual Purity, and it is, plus multiplication! Jonathan has interpreted many scriptual mis-understandings to lead us into, not only freedom from personal sins and victomized woundings, but encourages, empowers and challenges us as incredible warriors, as men of God, to take action. I have worked through many books and seminars on healing, restoration, and purpose driven focus. This book is packed full of direct scripture and simple identification of whom we are in God, as well as an appilcable understanding of our Father's heart. He takes the word and specifically applies it to where we are at with practical tools to make real, what can be an alluding theology for those lacking a true revalation of our purpose here and now.Was this review helpful?
