Great resource for anyone who is interested or who might need a periodic table

While many people may not want a periodic table on their nook, this does the job. This is not just the table. There is also discussion of how the table's history, and descriptions of the commonalities of the elemental families. The discussions are quick and easy to ...
While many people may not want a periodic table on their nook, this does the job. This is not just the table. There is also discussion of how the table's history, and descriptions of the commonalities of the elemental families. The discussions are quick and easy to read. I highly recommend downloading this and learning about something about chemistry. Even if you don't think you ever use chemistry, most people do while cooking, cleaning and taking a shower.

One of the things i didnt like about this book is that its based on mendeleev's table which is not the table we use now. Many elements are missing and some are in the wrong order. See medeleev's table was base on arranging the elements in the increase of atomic masses and similar chemical properties. Moseley's table (the current periodic table system) fixed all of the inconsistant placings of elements because he arranged the elements in the increase of atomic numbers not masses. This book has many flaws due to the choice of scientist its based on if it was based on moseley it would more accurate and helpful to scalors this however is just a book on how the table was wrong until 1913

    Awesome

This is amazing and is really helpful. And also, to anyone who said it is too small on the nook, if you double tap it it comes up as a picture that you can zoom in and out. However, i agree it was a little hard to navigate.

    HMMMMMM............

This is helpful, but it doesn't show the whole table. I gave it 4 stars because it still has a bunch of facts but not the whole table........

    >: Like elements, all of them, those to come?

It appears B & N likes to filter the elements of review. What is the outcome of anything minus a few elements?

    Useful, but incomplete

A great quick reference, but lacking in any significant detail. It lacks even simple things like the Latin names from which the elements derive their symbols, such as ferrum for iron. Great for a free quick reference.

This book is more helpful if you are older (6 grade and older). I only use the periodic table though.
