"Enough Already"
This book had all the necessary ingredients to be an awesome story: Highland Lairds, misjudged maidens, fae curses, historical time period. Unfortunately, the story took terribly long to develop because the action kept stopping to inform us that Laird Maclee had, once again, been turned on by the slightest brush of the hand from the aforementioned misjudged maiden. I found myself skipping entire pages of their intimate moments and saying to myself, "Enough already". In addition, it is a pretty pathetic Clan Laird who will leave pressing business of his Clan to, once again, make love to his woman. Also found that everyone's placid acceptance of finding them barely dressed and groping each other extremely unrealistic. I felt uncomfortable for them, having to endure the man's lack of physical control. I found the end drama to be too contrived and way too drawn out. It turned the rapidly degenerating laird into someone obsessive, possessive, grasping, overly hormonal, and desperate.

Soso
A bit to much sex and pity party for my taste. Decent story line though. Not a bad draft.

For a free book this was OK
I was surprised to see 600+ pages. I'd give it 2.5 stars.
The story started out OK. Laird Nial Maclee has a family curse where he will only be happy with his fated love. His family had been cursed generations ago when his great-great.etc grandfather married a Fae princess then eventually married another after she was forced to return home (leaving behind their infant son).
Maclee is a good Laird but likes women too. He doesn't want to be forced to wed as his father married one who wasn't his fated love & was miserable. His friends tease him about the curse & his many admirers as the curse includes all the Maclee Lairds will be more handsome then the one before. Which equals many stalker vying to be his wife and one admirer they all tease him about the Lady Heather Mac(Hag Heather).
The story began well. I'd say 3 stars but it never seemed to end. There were several places I felt it could end well & it just didn't. The London scenes were dragged out. I felt the actions of Heather & Nial seemed out of place for the time period. And the lack of reaction from other characters seemed odd to. As the story progress, Nial's feelings seemed more obsessive then caring. seemed off too.
Other than the curse, wasn't sure why fae was added to the story line.6 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

TOO LONG
This started out as a great book but at 600pages come on!. I quit at page 500. A lot could have been cut out of the story OR divide it in to 2 books. Story was good till it kept going on and on about his "tarse"(male organ).

All sane people, stay away!
I feel sorry for myself for even starting this book. It got to the point where I hoped this book would turn into a Greek tragedy. All the characters were underdeveloped, annoying, pathetic and the whole book was unrealistic. I found myself skipping pages. I have never not finished a book, but I came close with this one every other page.

Long and predictable
Not much plot; a lot of gratuitous sex; and, as in the headline, predictable.

Long-winded
It would have been avery nice romantic story if it wasn't for Nial's overly emphasized obsession with Heather. I found myself saying, "I got the picture, enough already!"

Great potential, terrible execution
This book had so much potential but was ruined by the author's lack of research about the time period. The title is also quite misleading, seeing as the faeries don't have much of a role in the dialogue.

A good idea, but not well executed.
While this book had a good premise (and I couldn't resist a free book), it went beyond my ability to suspend disbelief with the way the characters were acting given the time period. What would be a bit risqué possibly even by today's standards would have gotten them, at the very least, publicly shunned when this took place. Also, the story seemed to drag on.

Stupid book - don't read if you don't want to kill brain cells
The characters are so inconsistent, and the plot was so contrived. The possessiveness the main guy showed was kinda creepy. That's stalker behavior, not love. I did get a few good laughs trying to imagine the actual physics of some of the scenes though. Knowing that what was written would be absolutely impossible. And that's not even including the whole "magic fairy" part of the story, which I was fine with. Suspension of disbelief and all that. It was actually one of the most believable aspects of the story/characters, which is a very bad sign. Also, I giggled a lot at the inconsistencies and inaccuracies.

So, so bad.
Reads like it was written by an over-excited teenaged Scotland fangirl during study hall. If the author is going to write historical fiction, she should consider learning more about the period in which she sets her stories, particularly the fields of clothing, speech, and social behavior (pro-tip: if you're gonna have your characters blatantly feeling each other up on the dance floor without being noticed and shunned by the rest of society, try setting your story among the demi-monde rather than the ton. Or, you know, in the modern era rather than the Regency.) Just so, so very bad.

Just okay
I was confused at certain parts in the book. I actually read the book a second to make sure it wasn't me. Something was just off through out the book.

Twice as long as it needed to be
The writing is pretty good, but this book should have stopped 300 pages earlier than it did. I got to nearly page 500 and decided to just stop reading.
