    Ayn Rand here

I have read all the other books in the series, and I have liked them all so far, but really I think I see the stories getting less and less gripping. This one was disturbingly akin to Ayn Rand's 'The Fountainhead'.. complete with a statue and a lecture about self-worth. Very disappointed. I dont know if I want to go on to Pillars of Creation. Wizard's First Rule started slow, and then ended so beautifully, Stone of Tears was just as good, but I cant sense the fire anymore.

    Bummer

Another reviewer had it perfectly: somewhere Goodkind turned up a copy of Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand and decided to reprise it. It was staggering how identical many of the scenes and comments were. Even the characters took on an Ayn Rand feel. The entire face and reason for the war and the resistance for it changed to an Objectivist agenda. Reminds me of Stone of Tears and its similarities to the first few books of the Wheel of Time. Goodkind does all right. There's some good stuff here. But it's polluted. This book is definitely the worst of the lot. Hopefully Goodking will read something else before The Pillars of Creation--hopefully something I haven't already read--for his inspiration in that one.

    Enough already

There are a lot of problems with this book, but I'd say that the main one is that Richard is turning out to be the most boring character in the genre. There really hasn't been any character development at all since the first book, and it's getting tiring. I guess the best way to sum things up is to say that when I finally put the book down, all I could think about is that JC Rowlings is a much better writer, and when is the next Harry Potter book coming out...

    Not So Good

Sorry to have to say this, but I'm just having a hard time with this one. I'm a good third of the way through and nothing here has managed to really capture my attention. Personal angst is all well and good, but this one is dragging out to long. And where is the magic?

Faith of the Fallen (Sword of Truth Series #6)

I'm sorry. This book was gross, twisted and boring. It is a rehash of the same plots Goodkind uses in several other books of the series--Kahlan betraying Richard, Richard captured and fighting for his life. Yuck! Stay away from this one.
