I enjoyed this book, even though it is a bit heavy on the detail
I enjoyed this book, even though it is a bit heavy on the details of the old world British Navy. It is frightening to think about the living in a period when the whole world was as intolerant of homosexuality. Some places are no better now, but at least there has been much progress in much of the world. It remains baffling to me that these types of novels (gay male romance) are so often written by women. I say that because in my personal experience, women and men view everything about sexuality very differently. Call me sexist, but I don’t really believe women understand they way men experience sex and sexuality. This is evident in this book. The author gets close enough to reality to make the read entertaining, but misses in a few spots. Still, at least someone with writing talent is producing and publishing this type of story. If you are a fan of historical romance, you will probably like this book; however, there is more historical detail here than romance. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
