Anna Kiper (author) Fashion Illustration book review
This is probably the only fashion illustration book created by a fashion designer. Each drawing lesson is presented as a complete design story, and the book is filled with practical illustration tips as well as edgy, original design ideas. Fashion Illustration: Inspiration and Technique features lessons on illustrating fashion figures, faces, arms, and legs as well as garment details, accessories, fabrics, life model drawing and media exploration. It also has sections dedicated to menswear and children's wear. From my 10+ years of teaching experience, which includes FIT, Parsons, Pratt and Drexel University, I knew that a text book for aspiring fashion designers should be exciting, visual, inspirational, and colorful. Glossy paper, edge-to-edge intense full-color illustrations, and eye-pleasing page layouts therefore elevate this highly educational fashion guide to a beautiful coffee table book. I hope readers will enjoy my book and learn to illustrate fashion from a designer's perspective.

It's Anna Kiper, and we all know how talented she is! There's just one thing I would change in the book, which is having more pages in order to better distribute some drawings. Lots of them are isolated in a single page, which I find a lot better. I'm sure she could come with something more elaborated, like 9HEADS for example, but I believe her intention is to show different styles and medias, and not so much to describe each one meticulously. Great purchase!!! Go ahead ;)Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
