Michael Carvin is very surprised when his trainer turns out to be a woman. Jess is just what the ranch needs, a woman's touch so to speak. On their first meeting, as his friend is the one who hired her, they were squabbling like kids and Mike wanted her gone then and there. Dan, Mike's friend, needs his help on a case and helps Mike makes up his mind to keep Jess on the job for 2 months. The story gets interesting at this point and gets better with each page.

The reason for my 5 star rating? I loved the characters, they were described perfectly. The book was written so well I was on the edge of my seat to see what was going to happen next. I also enjoyed the interaction between all the characters. I actually felt like part of the group watching with them what was going on or working with them out in the fields training horses.

The romance of the story is just as pleasing. I felt for Mike, as he needs someone to love and care for and vice versa. I was either laughing or on the edge reading this book. I did not put this book down till the end and even then I hated seeing the book end.

I will be looking or more books from this author. She has a fan.

    Great book!

Loved this book! The characters were great, with just the right balance between romance, humor, and suspense. I was hooked right from the start and couldnt put it down. I will definitely read more books by this author.

    Great story!

A super book. Kept me hooked and wasn't overly smutty! Hate when a book with romance is too graphic.

    Very much recommend

I enjoyed this book. It is a short read but time lapses in the story enough to be believable. The characters are immediately drawn to one another but don't immediately have sex which, for me, is a little more believable and also less slutty.
Characters were lovable and fun yet had depth. The plot was good though a little thin as I figured out who the killer is about a quarter of the way into the book, though everyone may not as it was not completely obvious, I've just read a lot of mystery/suspense novels.
If you enjoy this book but love a great mystery detective novel and don't mind buying books (as this was a free read for me) I HIGHLY recommend Anne Perry's William and Charlotte Pitt series!

    Great Read!!

I loved this book! Has a really good story line and keeps you guessing throughout! And the ending was deinatly not as i was expecting, but i loved the twist. I felt myself rooting for Michael and Jessica the whole time! Iwould only say that i wish that the characters relationship growth showed a little more, some questions i felt needed to be answered about Michael. But overall a great book.

    Unexpected great find!

I got this book way back when it was Freebie Friday, & I just hadn't read it yet. BUT, I finally did, & it was good! Suspenseful, romance, funny, raw nerves...I liked it. I'll read more from Aris Whittier.

    Highly recommend - great read!

The characters are amazing. Through the authors description I felt like I knew them. Who doesn't like a little mystery with their romance.
