Product Description

Former Navy SEAL Max Wright is out of the SEAL Teams forever after being almost killed by an Afghani RPG. He retreats to his former XO's beach house to lick his wounds. He wants to snarl at the world but finds it hard to snarl at his new neighbor, his XO's beautiful goddaughter, Paige Waring, who also comes with a ridiculously likable, totally undisciplined dog.

As a plant geneticist, Paige has always been focused on her work, but when she and her dog run into Max, she recognizes the lonely, shattered man behind the rugged exterior. To her mind, sexiness always comes with a white lab coat, not with acres of tanned muscle and a tough mind-set.

When Paige's work becomes the target of criminals and she's abducted, Max springs into action. Though still terribly wounded, this tough as nails SEAL goes on his last mission-stopping at nothing to save the woman he loves.

OK for a very short read

Got right into the story, some swearing, but overall, very dissappointing. Story was only about 90 pages. Book was about 138 pages, of which the last 48 pages had more to do with other books like this one. Glanced thru, but didn't read that, as I won't bother buying...

    Big fan

I have all her of Ms. Rice's books. She MUST have a direct line to a male's thought processes because they really are mostly driven by simple urges. She makes me chuckle with every book she writes

This is a great short story of a Navy Seal healing from his wounds and the woman who helps him.

    Pretty good story

One very mad navy seal trying to recover from his injuries, and a sweet neighbor trying to be nice knowing he has been through a lot with her uncle's seal team. He just wants to be left alone to heal and figure out what to do with his life. First she makes him fresh cookies, then her dog tackles him while he is swiming, then she cooks him dinner. Thats when things get cooking until she is kidnapped a week later. He is willing to do anything to bring her home.
