A gem of mystery and suspense by a Master storyteller
Edgar award winner Thomas H. Cook delivers one of the finest tension filled mysteries out there. This is mystery writing at its best-imaginative, provocative and captivating. If you don't have time to find an exceptional read then get your hands on this book. The story is chilling and haunting. The characters reflect the insights and maturity of a master. There is a menacing dark sustained drive that will keep you guessing and turning pages until the last one. If you want to go on a roller coaster ride.....
One of the many qualities that makes this read unique is its simple texture. It is not just a fine mystery-it is a special piece of literature. The reader feels that each word is carefully chosen-written to compel, to push the book forward with growing intensity and agitation. An exceptional offering.

Thos. Cook Does It Again!
Another outstanding mystery by Cook. And this one is not only great prose, but the storyline is unique too. If you're looking for a book to get lost in...this is it. It would also make a great topic for a book club. Don't miss this one.

A uniquely told story
The book is a modern mystery with gothic overtones, and it tells stories within stories. While some of the subject matter is quite dark, the characters are largely compelling and the way in which the story is spun out is both unusual and satisfying. To say much more would be to give away plot and that would dilute the pleasure of reading the book. I was reluctant to put it down, and I think it could be a fun read for the right book club.
