Good read
Short and concise with great thoughts and ideas. A quick read I would encourage all men to read with an open heart to allow to speak to them through ideas shared.

A finely written book that motivates its readers to grow and to continue growing.
I have discovered Mr. Eldredge by accident or perhaps more accurately through the providence of God. Four men that I meet with every Monday evening encouraged me to read his book, Wild at Heart, and after many months of putting it off I finally picked up a copy and was blown away. Hence, I picked up Fathered by God and the journey has continued. An author that can cause his reader to go deep within his soul and learn about himself is blessed with a special gift, and that was the result of my experience with Fathered by God. The chapter on boyhood was especially moving for me as I lamented the relationship I have with my own father. So many things I wish he would teach me and so many ways I wish he would father me, yet he is unable to do so. While my wound is great, Mr. Eldredge reminds me so powerfully that God is the perfect father and He will father me if I will invite Him. I have been able to bring my hurt to God and let Him bring the healing that only He can provide. Hope is found in the words of this book and this is a book I will share with my son, a college student, so our relationship will grow and become stronger in the future.

disappointing
I received this book as a Father's Day gift, I was very excited to read another book by John Eldredge, several of his books have been life changing. However I was very disappointed to find that this is a condensed version of his book The way of the Wild Heart. On the back of the book in very small print it says contains previously written material. I can't find anything in this book that is new material. It is rather disappointing and smacks of gimmicky marketing. Save yourself some disappointment and don't buy this book, buy Way of the Wild Heart.
