Though some stories seem generic, the book as a whole is quite good. The standouts are "A Good Man is Hard to Find", "The Garden Party", "The Summer of the Beautiful White Horse", "Theft", "The Lottery", and "The Masque of the Red Death".Was this review helpful? An Incredible Collection
This is a truly great collection of short stories, all highly impressive, thought provoking, and with great emotional impact. You will want to savor this collection and spend time reflecting on each story. A wonderful variety of writing sytles comprises this collection of stories published between 1892 and 1950. It includes what I consider Salinger's finest work. I feel indebted to Milton Crane for creating this anthology. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
