    A reviewer

I was not impressed. The chapters weren't constructed well, the sequence is fragmented and out of order, and it isn't an accurate portrayl of the world. In my humble opinion this book gets a two thumbs down. I hate how he just rambles about these 'groups' that he's in and the people and what's going through. That and I don't like the fact that you don't know what the hell is going on half the time. I have to admit that was really annoying, too. I do not like his writing style nor do I like his ideas. To me it was a piece of garbage. I think a two year old could write a better story than this one. I think I'd actually be more entertained. I had to force myself to turn the page of this novel as I went on and I didn't really think it was worth it. To me, I rather read Conneticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, and that was one of my least favorite works. This one is a close second.

    Chuck let's me down.

I stumbled on 'Fight Club' while searching through B&N and found the blood red cover and clenched fist on the cover as appealing as I did repulsive. Finding exactly what I was looking for (something grotesque and violent, at the same time sporting fantastic rewiews) I bought the book. I started reading it on the cab ride home, and wondered what the editor was thinking when he realeased such a piece of garbage onto the market. However deliciously disturbing the book may be, it remains nothing more than a collection of half poetry half prose amateuresque writing, with just enough wit to make it a B&N bestseller. The first chapter gives away the end, ruining the book more than does the repetitive writing and recurring description of 'the gun in his mouth' I was ready to put down the book and admit that I had wasted twelve dollar, when I reached the next chapter. Having promised myself to always get fifty pages into a book before I stopped reading it, I plowed on through another forty pages or so of bad metaphors and even worse dialogues. The only reason I kept going was that the conflict got to me. I wasn't aware that the book would be a trip into a land of confused, non-efficient plot twists and verbose, laced with two word sentences that screwed with the plot more than they did it justice. The unnamed narrator who never uses quotes to speak starts to get to you at page one-hundred, as does his friend Tyler Durden who has time to monitor movies with a flash of 'dirty' in them, and work a job as a waiter who serves tainted food AND have a girlfriend who he only knows in bed. Over-all. Don't waste your money. Hope I helped!
