Fighting Love is the story of childhood best friends Julie Roger
Fighting Love is the story of childhood best friends Julie Rogers and Tommy Sparks. Tommy is a former middleweight champion down on his luck. Julie is a veterinarian that has been in love with Tommy for most of her life. Will Julie and Tommy find love or will Tommy, given a chance to reclaim his championship, revert to his life of tequila and one-night stands? Was this review helpful? I enjoyed this romance. It was a quick, easy read. Julie is an intelligent heroine who doesn’t let her love for Tommy rule her life. I wasn’t as crazy about Tommy. He was completely clueless at times. I liked how realistic Julie was about her love for Tommy. This made the focus of the book on what it would be like to lose the friendship that she valued over the chance at love. I liked that Julie was the one that had to force Tommy’s hand in order for the romance to ignite – although I’m not sure how realistic it was for Tommy to deny her for that long.
It’s nearly impossible to write a romance that doesn’t hold certain cliché elements. Unfortunately, Fighting Love was no different. The ending, in particular, was very predictable and expected. I was also a bit annoyed with Tommy’s inability to make up his mind about his friendship with Julie. The characters didn’t seem to have the emotional intelligence to be expected of someone 33 years old.
I recommend this book for romance readers that love the alpha male but are looking for an intelligent heroine.

The friends-to-lovers is my favorite troupe ¿ it has so much pos
The friends-to-lovers is my favorite troupe – it has so much possibly. In this instance, Tommy and Julie have been best friends since childhood. All of Tommy’s happy childhood moments revolve around time spent with Julie. He has never seen her as anything more than just a friend – until…Julie starts dating the competition. Julie on the other hand, has had a crush on him forever yet never pursued the relationship because she knows that Tommy does not share her feelings. The author did an incredible job turning their relationship into more…with natural hurdles, realistic situations, and good ole jealously. I cannot wait to read more about these extreme fighters, up next Winning Love. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
