This book is a wonderful metaphor for kids about their interactions with others!
I read this book to my young granddaughter and she loved it! The very next day she told me very excitedly after school that one of the other first grade teachers has a bucket hanging on the wall in her classroom. Now, we use "bucket language" to let each other know how something makes us feel good or bad. This concept is a great way to share a very valuable lesson about feelings to young children.

Excellent book for young and old
Our theme this year is filling buckets. I teach kindergarten n my kids loved all 3 bucket books. I love this one because of the song.

Highly Recommended - valuable for young kids!
I thought the concept of this book was amazing. What a great metaphor for kids that they can easily understand. There have been many conversations in our household since reading this book about how our actions are filling or emptying someone else's bucket. I think it is so important to read books like this with our kids so that they can reflect on their value system and have the tools they need to manage their own behavior. I highly recommend this one, as well as the other similar books by this author for different age groups.
