Final copy better not be Final Mystery!

This has to be the beginning for Jan Brogan because this is one mystery fan and fellow writer who wants more of Addy! Women will love this character for her strength and weaknesses and men will fall in love with her-- PERIOD. This book had a fast moving plot that kept me glued to my chair. I can't wait for the next one! And the one after that!!

    Find 'Final Copy'!

I'm not usually a mystery fan, but 'Final Copy' hooked me. It's one of those rare books that is a fun read but still seriously thought-provoking. Its murder-mystery plot twists around a newsroom drama, pulling multiple story threads (passion, betrayal, loss, fear, ambition, redemption) tighter and tighter -- until you're snagged. I didn't want it to end!

    Brogan piques interest and satisfies

Looking for some engaging and satiating weekend reading I grabbed Brogan's book and found myself fully drawn into the plot and believable characterizations. Not usually a mystery reader, I found it a great read - well-written and provocative. I look forward to her second

Great Drug/Murder story set in Boston

This is a great Boston story with well developed characters. Adie, the reporter in the story is an imperfect person who is trying to get by the best she can and encounters the best and worst in people. Her investigative skills along with her desire to stay sober keep her going till she finds the truth. A page turner you will love.

    I Couldn't Put It Down

I made the mistake of picking this book up on a Sunday morning...and couldn't put it down! Some mysteries lead you all over the place and don't seem to connect the connections. Final Copy was very complete in this respect. I often skim through a book but found myself reading every word because the descriptions were so thorough and thoughtful. There was some GREAT suspence that made me want to keep turning the pages. I liked the main character even though she made me a little nuts sometimes because it didn't appear she would be able to pull it all together. The conversations between people were real and that made the book flow so smoothly! There were some very sad stories, but they also gave the characters more dimension. This is a mystery that is also a novel. It should be obvious by now that I loved this book and highly recommend it!

    Wow -What a great read!

This is one fast, furious, and fascinating mystery novel! Brogan's FINAL COPY hooked me on the first page, and it never let go while I followed protagonist Addy McNeil's dive into the mysterious world of biotechnology in search of a murderer. I was not only gripped by the plot, but found Addy such a great character that I felt a sting of disappointment at leaving her on the final, satisfying page. A great read for mystery and fiction fans alike.

MUCH more than a great mystery book

I like reading mysteries as an occasional break from the more serious fiction and non-fiction I usually prefer to read. FINAL COPY is much more satisfying than the typical mystery novel -- it's got great characters, a compelling plot, and an unpredictable ending. The main character, Addy McNeil, a newspaper reporter down on her luck and trying to get her career back on track, is not your typical crackerjack detective. But her journalistic instincts and dogged determination enable her to get to the bottom of the central murder mystery: Did Kit Korbanics (an old college boyfriend) push his business partner over a hotel balcony to his death, or was it suicide? The real mystery, though, is what Addy will do with the information she learns, since the truth, her ambition, and her feelings toward Kit are all at odds. The writing is crisp, and the story is fast-paced and engaging. I highly recommend this book for mystery fans and for people who just love a good story well told.
